HAVING SAID THAT... for the price it wasn’t bad. It was clean and convenient. You have a full kitchen and laundry. You have a fireplace inside and bbq and deck out back. We enjoyed our stay. I just believe you deserve to know what you are actually getting from the listing before you book and stay. No surprises like we were.

Pros: The cabin was very clean. The linens were clean and there were plenty of extra blankets and towels. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make a meal. The deck was nice. The hot tub was clean and we had absolute privacy. This cabin is the definition of secluded. The road to the cabin was accessible to family vehicles. Screened in windows made it possible to let all the mountain air in. The fire pit was a added bonus.

Cabin on the Creek #189

In closing, yes we will rent through Yellow Rose realty again but we will definitely look into another cabin for our next trip.

Do not check in late or in the dark you will never find this cabin

Now for the cabin. We stayed in the cabin known as Simple Gifts.

Go left at the fork by the Exxon

We stayed at a cabin this past weekend that we rented through yellow rose realty. When I called to make the reservation, the man on the phone mentioned that our vehicle may not be able to handle the road to the cabin we wanted. He then took the time to find us another cabin that would accommodate our needs (we needed pet friendly) and adjusted the price to match the first cabin we wanted! The cabin he set us up in had some great upgrades too so I was beyond thrilled with that customer service. I have no complaints about Yellow Rose at all.

WARNING: You will get lost from the directions they give. There are 3 forks in the road not the one they have listed.

When planning our family Thanksgiving vacation there were four of us ladies that reviewed the listings and what each had to offer. We each wrote several listings down and I was in charge of calling all of the reality companies. I had many questions that I wanted to ask because I understand mountain living and know that the driveways can be a treacherous . I called Yellow Rose Realty about several cabins we were interested in. I was told that the Mountain Top had a concrete driveway that was in good shape and we would not need four wheel drive. I explained that we would be on a minivan and suburban. When we arrived my husband was concerned about going up the drive due to it being extremely narrow, and we were sitting in the curve looking at the next hairpin turn. If we were to meet anyone on this drive, someone would have had to back all the up or down. This drive was not concrete but had a patches of concrete off and on up the 1/2 mile drive. The parts that weren't concrete looked as if no one had been up it in years. My suburban barely fit on the drive and spun wheels going up. It was obvious once at the house that the pictures of the house and yard had been filtered. The yard is not long and wide as it appears. House is older, not as "bright" as the pictures showed. I was told that there was 3 sets of towels/wash cloths for occupancy. The occupancy was 12 which would mean there were 36 of each. This was not the case. We called Yellow Rose and she was unsympathetic and non apologetic to us not being pleased with the driveway and didn't see the problem. Her words were, the last tenants were foreign, spoke no English and had a rental car and they didn't have trouble. She also asked us what did we expect it was called Mountain Top. Also, that we should know when someone was coming up and down since there were only 2 cars so we shouldn't have to meet anyone on the drive. We were supposed to go to the Polar Express that evening and we were not traveling that driveway at night. I called and found our party of 11, rooms at a hotel in Cherokee. I was disappointed in the reaction of the company and being mislead on the house and driveway. We did not stay at this property and asked for a refund since we were not staying, but we were told no. We asked if they had another property that we could stay and they said they were all booked due to Thanksgiving. Now, there is a message at the bottom of this property (only) regarding the condition of the driveways to all of Yellow Rose properties.

WARNING: Do not count on having a pull out couch. Nobody could comfortably sleep on the super thin mattress.

We rented Cabin #803 Papas Cabin Thanksgiving week. We arrived past midnight on Tuesday. Wednesday morning we were outside of the cabin and were greated by 2 cats. Shortly after the owner of the cabins drove on the property and said I should take the cats home with me. I of course didn't think that was funny one of my daughter's is skeverely allergic. She assured me the owner's of the cats would be contacted and that the cats would be put up. We had tickets for the polar express and spent the whole rest of that day out sight seeing. Thursday "Thanksgiving" the cats were still on our porch and my 2 year old got scratched and bit by the older cat. I drove to the owner's house and her driveway was full of company. I decided not to go in due to Thanksgiving. I called Yellow Rose but I didn't call emergency # cause I thought this was more of a nuisance than emergency. I called the reality group first thing Friday morning and was assured I would hear back after speaking with the manager Dena and property owner Sandy. I never heard back! I even sent email with pictures of the cats. My daughter had to use inhaler all week and we couldn't step outside without cats running in. The towels inside the cabin once they were wet reeked of cat urine as well. I just spoke with Dena who was incredibly unprofessional and refused to give any kind of reimbursement for the absolute nuisance of our family vacation. Not so much as even an discount. She said she personally smelled the towels and there wasn't a smell. The smell would have knocked you back so there is no possible way she did. I was treated with no respect and I would never rent from them again nor would I ever stay in that cabin again.

Cons: The mattresses need replacing; it was like sleeping on a sleeping bag on the floor (warm but hard). The living room isn't really functional or comfortable. There is one small couch and then two wicker chairs that I think are honestly meant to be outside furniture. It was just two of us so we were okay on the couch but if there was one more person in the house, I don't know where they would sit. The chairs were seriously uncomfortable. The placement of the furniture is also a problem - the tv is do the sit of the couch, not really a natural position to sit and watch at night. The hot tub is right outside the master bedroom and the filter/jets cut on frequently throughout the night and it is LOUD. Like, scare the mess out of you while you're asleep loud. We tried everything to turn it off but no success.

WARNING: The pictures of the cabin are very accurate however you never see the front yard. That is because there isn’t one. Your door is 15 feet from a well travelled road. You do get the serene sounds of the creek but also the sounds of cars flying past all hours of the night.

We rented the cabin through a black card concierge for Master charge and the cabin was just as they said, they gave us a fair deal on the place and it was a well-kept well-preserved cabin that we felt was a very great value compared to some of the other cabins we have stayed in. I'm glad we stayed in Bryson City because it was centralized to everywhere we needed to go. We stayed at Black Bear which has a very steep driveway but is worth every penny. Ask for the Black Bear Properties they're awesome. What a great value and a great team at yellow rose. Super professional, friendly and super accommodating.
