Keep a couple of things in mind when renting a cabin in the mountains, roads to the cabins are narrow and steep, you are literally going to have to drive up and down the side of a mountain but in my opinion it's worth the couple extra gray hairs.
WiFi and cell service will suck at the cabins, it's a given and can be a blessing to unplug for a bit and connect with your family and surroundings.
You are more likely to lose power or water staying in a secluded cabin in the woods than in a hotel room on a strip of highway in city or town. Watershed was able to promptly send someone to us for any issues we had along these lines.
What a wonderful place! We stayed in Treehouse D in August and found it to be super-comfortable, welcoming, and peaceful. The private deck was sublime, particularly in the mornings with its sun-dappled view, and the hot tub is perfectly built for two. Even my long-legged spouse found it big enough to stretch out! We also enjoyed the challenging-for-novices hike down to the trout pond and the sweet fire pit just off the deck. We will definitely want to come back!
I have stayed with this rental company twice in 2 different cabins. They were both beautiful, clean and comfortable. I will only rent Watershed cabins for all my future trips to the area and have recommended them to all my family and friends.
The cabin we stayed in was Acorn Bend, a beautiful cabin on a private lot. We celebrated a romantic anniversary weekend in the hot tub, grilling out, reading, running around naked, shooting pool, swinging the porch, and enjoying the views. Inside, all the furnishings were rustic and modern and very comfy. The place was super clean. Best cabin we've ever stayed in!
Absolutely the best cabin we’ve ever stayed in. We’ll done Watershed! Top notch, beautifully equipped, and just what my family was looking for. Loved the comfortable bed, nice linens and Bluetooth outside speakers. The creek was magical and we couldn’t believe our eyes when we turned on the outside lights at night. Thanks for the great memories!
Very disappointed in this cabin. Most things we were looking forward to does not work. First thing we walk in the kitchen to black curly hair on the counter. Right beside the list of things that the cleaning person left. Another gift of hair was found by my wife in the upstairs bathroom. Broken window grill on front door. So I was going to grill the steak we had gotten. Lit the grill waiting for it to warm. Warm was all it did barely got to 150. Gas tank was out. Poor lighting on the deck made replacing the propane tank not an option. Guess that was missed even though it was checked on the list. So we decided to just sit by the fire and watch a movie. After all on the website it said a tv in every room with free everything, cable wifi, Netflix's. Tried for over an hour nothing. Wood was not covered so it was wet. So no fire. So we called the number on the checklist and got a message that they would call me right back. We left several messages never received a call. Had another number that I had received a text from and they answered. Explained my problems and was told that one of the tv did not work. And as for wifi, that's just the way it is. She said it goes out in the mountains and when it rains. So I had to drive 30 min to get a signal to notify my home alarm company that I could not be reached. There is a cabin phone but no way to know the number. No instructions for anything. Oh instructions are on the website but remember no internet connection at this cabin. So was using the restroom downstairs and was surprised by a car looking at me on the potty. No blinds in the bathroom. Hot tub jets dont work. My wife could not get in the hot tub because no steps. Flagstones loose around the very small fire pit outside. As for covered parking. It's for one motorcycle not a vehicle. So I would say no we will not be returning. Also I could not see a motorcycle being able to get up the extremely steep road or a low car. Thank goodness we were in a four wheel drive jeep. I have photos of the things that I spoke of if anyone wants to see. I would invite the owner to contact me and have a conversation about the problems we have encountered with this rental company and cabin. Don't mind things not working but say it on your website don't misrepresent what you are selling. I would expect to be compensated for the lack of services I am being charged for, but in my heart I know that will never happen.
