Very easy to get to! Friendliest and most helpful owners I have ever dealt with! Beautiful view of the water flowing directly behind campsites!
Not sure where the "grumpy" part of grumpy bear came from because Jerry is anything but grumpy. Cute name though and one I will remember next time I am up there.
New Everything, Super Clean, and True Southern Hospitality on the River! This fantastic new campground stands out above all the rest in the area. With a fair, one-price philosophy that includes virtually everything, there is no tacky add-on pricing for additional people or for taking showers, etc. like so many of the other older, run-down campgrounds in the area. Their new bath house has SIX individual private bathrooms, each with a shower, sink and toilet, including one that is set up for the handicapped. They are all super-clean. The bathhouse also has a washer and dryer available. Designed by campers for campers, all the near-perfect level campsites have water, sewer and electric connections , and all connections are all together near the right rear corner of the site. Perfect! Speaking of the sites, several of them are shaded sites that back up to the Tuckaseegee river with easy, flat-to-the-water access to the river for paddle-boarding, fishing, kayaking, etc. Jerry, the super friendly owner/manager is on-site full-time. Its more like staying with some friends with a place on the river (that just happen to have full hookups!) In short...AAA+++ (I've already made plans to return again next month for leaf-season.)
We camped off season and were the only ones there. Its on the river and the polar express runs right by the camp ground. They have a new showerhouse that is really clean and well done. Washer and dryer too. The owner was really nice and helpful. Just an all around great guy. Its 45 min away from Gatlinburg and during the summer its 5 min away from Cherokee. We will be camping there again.
Great new park right by the river! Close to Bridon city and still quite and peaceful. The owners are super nice and helpful! We came on a big 45 foot RV, no problems pulling in, the owner helped us back in - super! The new bathhouse is big, clean and tidy and has washer & dryer if you need. God willing, we sure will be coming back here next year!
Centrally located with easy access to GSMNP, I originally was just going to stay here till Smokemont had space but liked it so much I stayed for my whole trip. Made a really nice base camp to explore from. No cheesy gimmicks, just a nice place to stay and an owner that really cares. I look forward to staying again.
Smaller and not corporate type campground. Great new facilities, the private shower/bathrooms are more than worth the price of admission. The view and access to the river are icing on the cake.
