I have to say that this place is so much more than a Campground. It's like staying with Family. Our stay ends tomorrow and we are all sad. Paula, the owner is the most precious person I've met in a very long time! We were sitting by the pool and in the field next to the Campground was a gorgeous Elk!! He stood there and ate grass while we all took pictures. The river is also gorgeous! The sound of it outside our cabin makes us feel a calm that we haven't felt in a long time. We WILL be back. Thank you Paula for all you do. OH! And the hand-dipped ice cream in the store is YUMMY!!!!
This was such a great campground! The cabins were immaculate! They catered to military as well so that made us very happy. We traveled from about 7-8 hours away and were so happy to arrive! The cabins are so cozy. I sadly didn't get to meet the owners, but that's okay because every time I spoke with them on the phone they were super respectful. They have solidly the best rates in the area and the neighboring areas, I hope it stays that way! My family will definitely be resturning!
Sites are close together but not too close. The site that we're in is beside the river, which is currently a raging river due to the excess rain. The people, both the campground staff and fellow campers, are very nice and pleasant.
I loved it. A girlfriend and I took our daughters to Bryson City for tubing this weekend. I called the morning of our trip and Paula was able to accommodate us with a tent site for one night. We normally look for wooded primitive camping but this was Fourth of July weekend so we took what we could book! This was the first time I've camped so close to other people, but the whole experience was super fun and our daughters had a blast. We had a tent spot by the pool, a fire pit and a picnic table. It felt like summer and I could've stayed longer. Ela campground has the best customer service possible and the location is great. Our tent site had electricity so I could've brought an electric kettle for my French Press : ) The pool closes at 10pm during the summer which helps get the kids zonked out. Everything was pretty quiet after 10 except for the personnel keeping security watch on a golf cart, which i appreciated. Next time I'll book one of the little cabins and make things even easier on myself. Recommended!
Great experience. Cabin was very small, no inside bathrooms, but it worked for us. All we did was sleep after our daily ventures. Nice place. Enjoyed our stay
